Shawl-Collared Wrap Cardigan

Another jacket, I made this with some yarn I bought from ebay. A little hint - if you are making something, check your yardages/meterages? first. I ended up with about 10 grams of yarn left over - although the belt was skinnier than it should have been and I made a couple of modifications to the pattern - I didn't make sleeve cuffs or a pocket (not because of yarn shortages, but I would have run out if I didn't make the modifications)

It's the Shawl-Collared Wrap Cardigan from SweatBabe.com's Fabulous and Flirty Crochet and it was a fairly easy pattern to follow...I might just need to wait until the weather gets a bit warmer to wear it.

Go the cardigan! Looks lovely! What is the fibr content? (guessing cotton?) Thanks for the comment, there must be a few stashbusting games going around.. the end goal, no stash.. which for some reason defeats the fun/spontaneity of having one.

You cardigan does look lovely :D

Thanks! It's 100% wool actually.

Currently I'm accumulating a bit of a fabric stash, so I should really use some of it for something. My mum keeps asking me why I keep buying it and I don't think I've given her a satisfactory answer. When I went out to buy embroidery thread for the tour the other day I ended up with 9 meters from Spotlight and another 2ish? maybe from an opshop. Although the thread and all the fabric came to about $28 and I think I saved about $100 from the original fabric price...one of the pieces may be made into a skirt in the near future. Possibly.

My bead stash is now at the point where I only buy beads for specific projects (although beads are small and all fit in one draw) and I'm getting to that point with wool/yarn as well...partly because with impulse buys I never have enough to do much with, and I've decided to try and minimise my use of acrylics. It's just all the pre-yarn fibre now...Although with fabrics I figure you can use teeny bits...so I've probably got no excuse for the fact that I keep buying it in 3 meter lots.
